Satisfied Clients

From Tonya:

“I started going to Tusculum Massage shortly after moving to Cincinnati. I had been in a severe auto accident that left me with 2 herniated discs and a lot of pain with limited range of motion in my neck. I was told that I would need surgery eventually to repair the damage. After 4 epidurals and very little relief I met with Bill for my first fascia release massage therapy appointment. I can honestly say that after my first appointment I had more range of motion in my neck and more relief from pain than I did after getting any of my epidurals. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and would much rather seek treatment that promotes healing in a healthy, non-surgical way. I have also referred to him as well. I think that doctors tend to send us to the most evasive (and costly) treatments first. When there is such an easy, non-evasive way to treat your injuries, why would you go any where else? As a professional and as a injured client, I highly recommend Bill's treatment and would suggest him as an alternate treatment to surgery. I know the type of treatment that he has done on my neck increases the blood flow, which promotes healing, releases the tension and tightness, that causes pain, helps immensely. I cannot stress how much relief I have received from this type of treatment from Bill.  Thank you Bill!!"

From Pamela:

“After 7 years of seeing a chiropractor, 1-year of seeing a massage therapist one-to-two times a week, and one trip to Las Vegas where an expert therapist from Germany felt my neck, immediately recoiled, and then recommended that I fire my massage therapist, I knew I had a problem that quite frankly scared me to my core.

My story begins 15 years ago when I was in a car accident that left me with severe neck trauma. The doctors were willing to prescribe anything I needed and basically told me that due to my high stress job and job related functions, I was doomed to suffer with this issue for the rest of my life.

For those of us who suffer with chronic pain, perhaps you awake every day as I did with one thought on your mind “how bad is it going to be today.” And to make matters worse, it controlled my life and most definitely my attitude. I was scared. I honestly thought that I would be crippled for the rest of my life and that my pain-filled crying episodes that occurred at least 3 times a week driving home from work, were never going to end. Of course, those closest to me tried to understand, but unless you suffer from chronic pain…you really don’t understand. That is until…

One night almost a year ago I met Bill Hulsizer just by chance. We were at an event, and one of my friends introduced us and mentioned that Bill was a massage therapist. “Perhaps he could help you” was the suggestion. Bill offered to give me a free diagnosis of my condition and I’ll never forget what he said “what did you do to your arms?” I thought, “what a freaking nut, I told him it was my neck!” Feeling quite perplexed, but also willing to try anything, I scheduled an appointment. Our first session was quite productive and I remember realizing half way through the treatment that with my other therapist I would mentally direct her to the areas that hurt…a little to the left…over there…move down…can’t you feel that? It was as if there was this series of techniques that she needed to follow…first you do this, then that. But not with Bill, he seemed to instinctively know exactly where to go. So I thought okay, he thinks it's my arms, I said my neck…at the end of the day who cares that felt awesome and was the best massage I had ever received! And that’s when my journey to recovery began. Yes, recovery.

After several months of treatment, my life was transformed. I do not wake up in chronic pain, I do not cry driving home after a long day of sitting in the office chair, I am a normal functioning adult living in a pain free world. Bill’s technique, his patience, his understanding, and genuine care to help heal his patients is quite frankly rare and true.

Oh, and the “arms” thing. It turned out that Bill was correct. When the accident occurred, I was driving 50 mph on a two lane highway when a young girl pulled out right in front of me. Knowing that there was no way that I was going to avoid hitting this person and just praying that her or I didn’t get killed, I braced for impact…with my ARMS. The energy of the collision was absorbed through my arms traveled into my neck and exited through whiplash.

I have shared this story with many and I can only hope that it inspires and encourages you to go seek the healing that is available.  I am a true believer in the technique of myofascial release. It worked for me, thanks so much Bill!

Bill's note:  Pamela was an active participant in her recovery.  She now takes yoga and eats better, which also helped her lose weight.  She may be in the best shape of her life right now.

From blues guitarist Kelly Richey's blog:

Dec - Two things I’d like to mention…

First, I’d like to mention is Bill Hulsizer’s new massage services and space!!! I’ve played guitar for many years, traveled many miles and hurt in many places!!! I recently began seeing Bill for my second round of massage and I’m a snob about two things…coffee and massage!!! Bill not only gives an amazing massage, he also feels that the body is able to heal when given the necessary care often needed!!!

I would encourage you to give Bill a call and schedule a massage!!! He’s highly skilled, affordable and best of all, right here in Cincinnati!!! You can schedule an appointment online and if you don’t know what to get someone you care about, it would make an excellent Christmas gift!

I recently began studying jazz guitar and I’ve committed to practicing 6 - 8 hours per day. It’s been years since I’ve taken on a practice schedule like this!!! Without Bill’s help, this would be an impossible task!

Thank you Bill!!!
